Steve Wozniak: Android will be the dominant platform
Above are just a few of the headlines strewn across the internet after an article surfaced that "Mis-Quoted" Steve Wozniak. Since then, retractions have been "printed", and the damage control machine is in full swing.
Honestly, I couldn't tell you if he was mis-quoted or not, but I do have my own opinions on whether the quotes or mis-quotes could be right. Lets look back into the time machine into Apple History for a minute.
Cardio Machine Trap
Wow, it happens to all of us. We think we work hard and should be able to reward ourselves for that hard work. There is only one problem, How hard did we really work? Not such an easy thing to find out is it...
UNLESS: We're at the gym or have a big fancy machine at home. I'm talking about those big, bulky, floor space robbing Cardio machines that come in many flavors. Elliptical Trainers, Stair Climbers, Exercise Bikes. The nice ones all have a great tool to calculate exactly how many calories are burned during a given workout.
Useful Health and Fitness Resources
As most that know me are aware, I'm not even close to what would be called a Health Nut. I don't eat the best foods, I don't exercise enough, I don't even research enough on what I should be doing. That being said, I'm not a total Slob/Couch Potato either. I enjoy working out (unless it's just general steady state Cardio), I enjoy lifting weights, I enjoy sports, and most of all, I enjoy being out and playing with my girls.
Honestly, I never even considered working out or going to the gym until my oldest daughter began getting old enough to play outside. At that time, I found out real quick how bad out of shape I was and knew it was time to do something about it. The real problem at that time was that "I don't have any clue on what I need to do to get in better shape". We had joined a gym, but didn't have the money to Personal trainer (That was a blessing in disguise), so I had to start researching what I should be doing with my goals to get stronger, and have a bit more endurance in mind. My research led me to a few websites and resources that I still use today for information and I wanted to compile this list so that it may help others who are beginning their journey to get in better shape.
These are in no particular order, just sites I still use.
No Texting While Driving - I feel safer Already
Well, where to begin. The Kentucky legislature passed House Bill 415 and Governor Beshear Signed the the bill into law, therefore it's official. Now, for those that have not been paying attention, this Bill does three main things.
- It redefines some portions of KRS 216.712, which relates to Personal Service Agencies. Honestly, I would need to read up and research that particular piece of regulation to know exactly how it's being changed.
- Makes it illegal to "Text" while operating a Motor vehicle (Driving).
- Makes it Illegal for those under 18 to us a Hand Held Cell Phone while driving.
I'm sure many will ask:
"What's the Big Deal"
If texting while driving is really that "Unsafe", I'm pretty sure we already had a few laws on the books, which coverred the dangerous/Unsafe driving. Reckless Driving comes to mind first, because it pretty much covers all types of driving that is not safe and normal. Therefore, if Texting causes you to weave, drive to fast, or just generally be unaware and dangerous, odds are you are Driving Recklessly. Why do we need to specify Texting and Driving, it just doesn't make sense to me.

Ipad, hit or Iflop
This past Saturday, Apple released it's latest gadget, the Ipad. I've read article after article stating that nearly all locations selling this new gadget had a line or waiting list for the chance to purchase one of these on it's initial release. However, I have not heard of any shortages, and just about everyone who wanted one could buy one. Also, upon a quick check on Ebay, I see the usual suspects selling ipads at inflated prices, but not many individuals doing this, to me this means the demand is not there yet.
For example with every version of the Iphone, Apple has run out of stock at many locations the weekend of it's initial release. This has not occurred for the Ipad.
Personally, I would love the opportunity to give a quality review of this product, but can't justify buying one, and without some good sponsors, I don't see me buying one anytime soon. And here is why.
Planet Flash Productions 2009 XRRA Highlights Review
Once again, Planet Flash Productions has put together another great Rock Sport Video. This time, it's the 2009 XRRA Season highlights video. With action from Jellico, Tn, Grey Rock Alabama, Lexington, Ky (Rupp Arena), Louisville, Ky (Freedom Hall).
With over 10yrs of rock sport videos under his belt, you can bet they've got a great formula for quality videos. You can bet each and every one of the Planet Flash Videos will have some good rocking music, high revving engines, the occassional outburst from the crowd, and high flying racing and crawling action. This video does not let me down and has each of those great qualities.
