What are you Doing for Christmas?

Odds are, the majority of us will spend it in a nice comfortable home.  For those of us in the south, we will have out thermostats set to Cool the Hot outside air, but for those of us a little farther North, there may be snow on the ground and we need to heat our homes.  No Matter the Weather, one thing is for sure.  If you are reading this, you are likely more fortunate than many who need our help.

This is where a few Passionate and dedicated individuals will make a trec to far away lands and help those in need.  Dave and Marty Sperow of La Cima World Missions are just a few of these dedicated individuals.  This year the Sperrows will be representing a  Medical Team from La Cima in Thailand.

During Christmas, Dave and Marty will be at two different orphanages in Thailand. For a few days they will be at Safe Haven Orphanage and later they will be in Mae Ka Hta at a another orphanage.  The Mission of the Safe haven Orphanage is provide orphanages that are "safe havens" to children throughout Thailand. A Safe Haven Orphanage is a home that provides disadvantaged children with proper nurture, nutrition, shelter, clothing, medical care, and education. A Safe Haven Orphanage is open to children from all communities of faith and culture and is non-threatening to the child’s pre-existing belief systems.

The Medical Team could use your help.  Many Supplies will be needed for this trip and they have already begun gathering them in preparation.  Some items will be purchased here in the states and Shipped directly to Thailand.  However, other items will need to be purchased once they arrive in country.  This will require money to purchase these items.

Just remember,  These individuals are doing what most of us won't.  They are going to problem areas getting their hands dirty to help others.  All While most of us are perfectly happy in our nice comfortable homes.

About La Cima:

La Cima was founded by Dr. David and Marty Sperow.  They are a husband and wife team that spent time living and working as full-time missionaries in Honduras, Central America.  There they worked in a small medical/dental clinic in the village of Canchias.   In the time they were there, they were pushed well outside their comfort zones as God accomplished many amazing feats before their eyes and at their hands.

Many relationships were developed in the time they spent in Honduras that can only be described as God at work.  Governmental, personal, and medical connections were made that pointed to a God-sized task in the making.  David and Marty returned to the United States and organized La Cima.

The Board of Directors is a group of individuals, in the medical and dental professions, with hearts for missions.  Our main goal is to follow God's call and watch as He works through His servants.

What does "La Cima" mean?

La Cima is Spanish for "the summit" or "the mountain top."  One of the most common descriptors of a medical mission trip is that it "was a mountain top experience."  We wanted to capture that in our name.  When you go where God is working, it takes you to a high point that can be experienced but never fully described.  We encourage you to consider a mission trip, if that is where God is calling you, even if it is not through La Cima.  Rest assured if you have never done it before, it can be a life-changing experience.
