In June, my Air Conditioner outside unit failed.  This was a bad day around our house, due to the Heat and Humidity in Ky. Sadly, I should not have been surprised that the unit failed, so let me give you some background info about our Unit.

My wife and I moved into our current home which is over 50yrs old now in 1999.  At that time, our home inspection told us the Furnace needed to be repaired.  Therefore, our mortgage company required the sellers to replace the furnace.  Then about 5yrs ago, the Igniter on our Gas Furnace went out on the Gas Furnage the Wednesday Night before Thanksgiving.  We called a Heat and AC Service Technician from Lexpro Mechanical.  The technician came out and inspected the Furnace, found the problem and repaired it as quickly as possible.  My wife and I were quite pleased with the Service we received and recommended Lexpro Mechanical Inc. for any Heating and AC Repair.

Now, Jump to the Present, June 2009.  We have not done any other maintenance to our Heat or Air Conditioner System.  We turn the Thermostat up and down to suit our needs, and that is truly all we do.  We have noticed the past couple of summers thatthe house just doesn't stay as cool as it used to. Then one day, it just quit.  No Cooling at all, the Fan would run, but the Compressor would not kick in.

Time to call Lexpro Mechanical and see if they can perform a miracle and revice our old AC Unit .  We fully expect the Service Technician to let us know that our Outside Air Conditioner Unit was beyond repair and must be replaced.  However, we were informed that he could repair our AC and we didn't need to purchase a new system just yet.  This was great news considerring, the cost of a new Heat and AC System is not in the Budget for this year.

All the news was not so good though.  Upon inspecting the Compressor and Condensor coils, it was evident that I had never done any preventative maintenance on our Air Conditioner System.  Years of Yard clippings had been blown directly at the compressor and had clogged the condensor unit.  This must be cleaned, and truly should have been cleaned long before the other failure.  Due to how dirty the condensor was, this cleaning took quite a while and added unneeded expenses to the repair Bill.

After the service and cleaning, it's evident that our Air Conditioner is much more efficient and running better.  It's currently the middle of July, and we are not having any trouble keeping the house cool, and the upstairs is much cooler also.  Once again, Lexpro Mechanical Inc. has saved the day, and repaired our HVAC unit.
